The main objective of the programme are to provide deep knowledge and equip the graduates with a high level of skill in analysism critical evaluation through a comprehensive research work. Further more by end of the programmes the students should be able to demonstrate their creativity and flexibility in the application of knowledge and skill to new situations, to solve complex problems and to think rigorously and independently.

While for the research outcomes, the industrial based products becomes the target for research works with the missions to support local industries (SME), to formulate new knowledge (advancement of knowledge) and to generate IP assets such as petents, copyrights, industrial design trade secret etc.


Within five years upon completion of the program, our graduates will be:

PEO Description
PEO1 Engineers who analyse, synthesize and apply science, mathematics and engineering knowledge and laboratory experience to provide technically, environmentally and economically viable solutions to government agencies and private sector in the field of chemical engineering at national and international level.
PEO2 Engineers who manage and communicate effectively in leading and engaging multidisciplinary teams in solving engineering problems at national and international level.
PEO3 Engineers who utilise ICT to enhance their engineering knowledge and skills to explore and/or embark on technopreneurial or research opportunities at national and international level in the field of chemical engineering.
PEO4    Engineers who integrate ethical, social and professional responsibilities in the field of chemical engineering.


At the end of the programme, graduates should be able to:

PLO3 Relate ideas to societal issues in chemical engineering
PLO4    Conduct research with minimal supervision and adhere to legal, ethical and professional codes of practice
PLO5 Demonstrate leadership qualities through communicating and working effectively with peers and stakeholders
PLO6 Generate solutions to problems using scientific and critical thinking skills
PLO7 Manage information for lifelong learning


MASTER (full-time) : 1.0 - 3 years

MASTER (part-time) : 2 - 5  years

We have an Excellent Graduate Assistanship Scheme (EGA), open to eligible FULL TIME student

Academic Requirements - Bachelor Degree with minimum CGPA of 3.00 or above

Benefits - Monthly Allowance (RM1800.00)

Age - Not more than 35 years old


Bachelor's Degree in a related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 from local or any other institutions of higher learning as approved by the senate of UniKL


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field with a CGPA between 2.50 or 2.75 is acceptable for admissions depends on rigorous internal assessment (for UniKL, the internal assessment is at least 2 years working experience in a related field)


Bachelor Degree or equivalent with CGPA less than 2.50, with at least 5 years working experience is acceptable for admission


English Language Requirements (International Applicants)

All students need to have TOEFL / ILETS and students who have attends the following tests of proficiency in English are exempted from taking any english Placement Test (EPT) / English Preparatory Programs (EPP) courses
