PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The programme is a professional degree that is highly regarded and very marketable that prepares undergraduate students for employment in chemical related industries or graduate study. This programme has been designed specifically to address the needs of the various chemical elate industries for knowlegeable and well trained personnel in engineering disipline. The theoritical and practical nature of this programme will enable prospective students to apply directly at the workplace the advanced concepts taught.

PLO Description
PLO1    Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and chemical engineering to the solution of complex chemical engineering problems.
PLO2 Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature and analyse, complex chemical engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
PLO3 Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex chemical engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PLO4 Investigation: Conduct investigation into complex problems using research based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.

CAREER PATH

Chemical engineering is primarily the application of chemical principles of industrial processes and environmental problems to effect a change in the composition and properties of matter to benefit society and the environment.

Chemical engineer plays an important role in design, development, construction and operation of industrial processes for production of diverse range of products a well as in commodity and specialty chemicals. They can focus on one or more of the following roles; managing scale up processes from plant to full industrial scale-up processes from plant to full industrial-scale manufacting, researching new product from trial through to commercialization, improving product lines; modifying the processing plant that products and designing and commisioning new plants.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

LOCAL APPLICANTS

Malaysian University Examination Test (MUET) : Band 2

AND

A Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in 3 subjects including Mathematics and one science subject and A Pass in (SPM)or its equivalents and a pass in English

OR

A Pass in Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in relevant fields from UniKL or from other recognized higher learning institutions by Malaysian Government

OR

Pass in UniKL Foundation in Science and Technology or its equivalents from UniKL or other recognized higher learning institutions by Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA of 2.0; OR Pass in Matriculation in relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.0

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

A pass  in Foundation in Science & Technology

OR

A pass in "A" Levels or its equivalent with pass in 3 subjects

OR

A pass in related Diploma from a recognized institution or its equivalent

OR

A pass in International Baccalaureate with at least 24 points and pass in Mathematics and Science

Fullfill UniKL's minimum english requirement

All international students will have to take an English Placement Test (EPT) upon arrival at Universiti Kuala Lumpur unless students students have taken IELTS and TOEFL.
